Many people think Christianity is primarily about gaining biblical knowledge or attending church. While both are important, Jesus called His followers to something much deeper: discipleship.
A disciple is someone who continually learns from Jesus, trusts Him, obeys Him, becomes more like Him, and helps others follow Him.
Biblical discipleship is a lifelong journey of transformation. It involves our minds, our hearts, our relationships, our decisions, and our daily lives. As we grow in our understanding of God’s Word, the Holy Spirit changes us from the inside out.
At Unity Vietnamese Church, we summarize this journey in six movements:
Hear God’s Word
Understand God’s Word
Believe God’s Word
Live God’s Word
Share God’s Word
Become more like Christ
Notice that Bible study is not the destination—it is the beginning. God’s goal is not merely informed Christians but transformed disciples.
